Team Behind The Project

This challenge is being undertaken by a group of NHS staff from Yeovil Hospital, supported by logistics, medical, and safety volunteers.

Each person brings different strengths — running, planning, navigation, care — with a shared commitment to completing this endeavour responsibly and for the right reasons.

Thomas Lambert

I’m Always up for an adventure or a crazy challenge and organising this event is a way of turning my reflections from my time in Kenya into something tangible.

Running is my passion and I believe it does not change the world on its own, but it is a force - and, definitely has the power to help the world to take a step in the right direction.

Event Organiser, Marketing & Communications Director

Paediatrics, SHO Doctor

Lt Henry Stevens RN

Race Director

Lieutenant, Royal Navy

I am the Race Director and the only team member not from Yeovil Hospital. This removes emotion from my decision making regarding the project.

I am responsible for event oversight and decisions on race termination, pauses or deferrals in accordance with The Projects core values: teamwork over heroics, safety over speed, transparency and remaining values-led.

Laura Lake

Fundraising Director

Paediatrics, Physician Associate

I’m always up for an adventure, and I love the concept of turning a crazy running idea into real support for good causes.

I give a lot of my time to charitable projects and I really believe that a pair of trainers, a lot of heart and a big goal can genuinely help change lives. So I couldn’t be more happy to be apart of the project.

Meet the Runners.

Carrying the challenge, one step at a time.

These are the people stepping onto the route — taking on the physical work of the journey, trusting the team behind them, and moving the project forward kilometre by kilometre.

Luyanda Makonese

Runner

F1 Doctor

Running is an essential part of my lifestyle. I love adventure and this challenge is something that I simply couldn’t resist taking up. Thank you Tom for the opportunity!

Daniel Leach

Runner

Consultant Paediatrician

I don’t always need a reason to run – I love hitting the trails just to blow away the cobwebs and feel more alive – but it’ll be even better to run for this great cause. I have a few ultramarathons under my belt and a great support crew is essential to success. I’m looking forward to both crewing and running for this event, and being part of the amazing Yeovil team accomplishing together what we couldn’t do alone. Fingers crossed for the weather!

Meet the Logistics.

The quiet engine behind every mile.

From navigation, to food replenishing, timing and handovers, this team keeps the challenge moving. When plans change — as they always do — they will ensure that the right things continue to happen at the right time.

Marina Jara Fort

Logistics Director

Speciality Doctor in Emergency

I am an expedition Doctor with experience in extreme high altitude and running has always been the foundation of my training.

I believe both my running and my expedition experience will be great for my role as part of the logistics team. I will be in the background onsite making sure the project runs smoothly and safely. I will also ensure there is never a lack of coffee!

Sam Choroszewski

I am a doctor as well as a keen, if somewhat slow, ultramarathon runner - Been doing these sorts of races for a few years now and wanted to help out on the crewing side to get the team over the line on this one.
Favourite running snacks are Mars bars and Percy Pigs, but been know to scoff sausage rolls and dominos pizza during the night sections when the cameras aren’t on!
Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

Logistics Team

Age 28, F2 Doctor

Jasper Craib

Head of Logistics

SHO, Emergency Medicine Doctor

I’m a casualty care instructor for a Maritime Search and Rescue charity in my spare time and I’ve previously organised several endurance events. Those experiences have given me a strong appreciation for the importance of preparation, contingency planning, and calm decision-making under pressure.

As Head of Logistics, I’m responsible for making sure the team has exactly what they need, when they need it. This is exactly the kind of ambitious, values-driven project I love being part of!

Meet the Fundraisers.

Purpose, momentum, and the support that makes The Project possible.

The fundraisers are the foundation of the whole project - supporting the race infrastructure costs, outreach, and awareness making the event possible. Through their work, this becomes more than a run — it becomes a shared mission across the hospital community, turning miles into meaningful impact.

Megan Nash

Deputy Fundraising Director

Trauma & Orthopaedics, SHO Doctor

Although I’m not the best of runners, I’m always up for a good challenge and love spending time outside. I enjoy team sports and shared adventurers making this project an exciting prospect!

I’m looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve together and am hoping we can build something meaningful. Hopefully there will be some great laughs and experiences along the way too!

Anna Mykura

Fundraising Team

Paediatrics, F1 Doctor

I’m someone who has always loved to travel and has been lucky enough to explore much of the world. Through my travels and the people I’ve met, I’ve seen the impact charities like Tirop’s Angels can have and the importance that events like this can have in sustaining them.

Although not participating in the run, I’ll be helping out in the background and on the sidelines!

Meet the Researchers.

Legacy, learning, and the responsibility that lasts beyond the miles finishing line.

Capturing lessons from the challenge to improve safety, strengthen future event planning, and contribute to the wider understanding of race medicine. Through their work, the project carries forward credibility, learning, and lasting legacy beyond completion.

Thomas Smith

Medical Research Director

ITU, SHO Doctor

I’m an adventurous runner with a real soft spot for trail running, having taken part in a couple of trail races that I’ve absolutely loved. I enjoy cycling, swimming, and generally being outdoors whenever I can — and I certainly don’t mind getting muddy along the way.

Taking on the journey from Land’s End to Yeovil feels like the perfect kind of challenge, and I’m really looking forward to sharing the experience with such an amazing group of people.

Meet the Medics.

Safety, care, and clear thinking under pressure.

The medics are responsible for more than first aid. They bring clinical judgement, foresight, and calm decision-making — ensuring that every runner is supported and that safety always comes before completion.
