Dr Jaspal Singh is an Emergency Medicine Doctor with a specialist interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Jaspal is a World of Extreme Medicine (WEM) faculty member, and provider for wilderness medicine training courses, as well as part of the Women’s Rugby World Cup & London Scottish Medical Team

He has helped to design the Hyperthermia and Heat Injury response strategy for the Newport Marathon.

And this talk will use an evidence-based approach to discern fact from fiction regarding common marathon Top Tips’.

Dr Jake Keast

Training Hard, Staying Healthy: The Science of Endurance

Jake Keast is an NHS doctor and founder of the JK Journey And VITOVA Healthcare Solutions, as well as GB Age-Group Triathlete and Coach.

Through the “JK Journey” Jake has coached many athlete across running endurance, with coaching qualifications in Ironman and British Triathlon.

VITOVA healthcare, builds from Jake’s Medical background, GP and Obesity & Weight management diplomas with AI to create adaptive exercise plans based on an individuals health conditions, medications and exercise history.

Drawing on this experience, this talk approaches key principles to dafe and sustainable endurance training to arrive at ‘race day’ responsibly to mitigate injury.

Heat, Feet and Tough Decisions: Medicine at Multistage Ultramarathons

Dr Emma Duffield is an Emergency Medicine Registrar and Lead Medic for Trailmed, providing medical support multi-stage international ultramarathons.

From blister care to life-threatening heat stroke, this session explores the common medical issues encountered in multistage ultramarathons, as well as the unique challenges of delivering care in a variety of settings.

Through real-world examples, we’ll discuss how to assess, treat, and make critical decisions in environments where resources are limited and stakes are high. Aimed at doctors, event organisers and keen runners interested in endurance and expedition settings.

Why Runners Break Down - And How to Stop It

Kyla Koçakis a sports chiropractor specialising in performance, injury prevention and long term musculoskeletal health.

Kyla works with both the general population and athletes, supporting endurance athletes at international multi-day ultramarathons in extreme environments.

She provides chiropractic care in elite football, including Bristol City F.C and works in Hanham Specialist Sports Injury Clinic, providing chiropractic care, diagnostic ultrasound, injection therapies and MRI scanning.

This talk will provide practical, actionable strategies to help runners perform and recover more effectively, to avoid common breakdown patterns and explorin how running injuries occur.

As the Team GB Aquatics Nutritionist, hostile-environment nutritionist and ultramarathon runner.

Abi provides personalised nutrition strategies to many Olympians and Olympic Gold Medalists, including the likes of Tom Daley OBE.

This talk will discuss explore the link between energy availability, nutrition and bone health - highlighting how chronic under-fuelling and can impact performance and recovery.

This will equip runners with clear nutrition strategies to reduce bone injury risk and protect long-term health in ultra endurance running.
